Dogs Australia National Grooming Team
(National Team)
Welcome to the Dogs Australia National Grooming Team! We are proud to represent the best of Australian grooming talent, showcasing skill, and dedication. Managed by the Dogs Australia Canine Grooming Committee, our team strives for excellence and aims to set the standard in the grooming industry.
Our Mission
The mission of the National Team is to achieve international exposure and recognition, enhancing the reputation of Australian groomers while inspiring new talent at home through the team's visibility and success.
The National Team includes the following members:
One member for Group 1 Hand Stripping
One member for Group 2 Spaniel/Setter
One member for Group 3 Poodle
One member for Group 4 Scissoring
The team is led by our Team Manager, appointed by the DA Canine Grooming Committee, who provides guidance and support, ensuring that every member is prepared to excel.
The Rising Star Award
In addition to our main team, we’ve created a special opportunity for a young groomer to travel with us as part of our Rising Star Award program. This award is given to the top scorer on the Rising Star leaderboard, offering valuable exposure and experience to help inspire other young groomers to pursue their passion and aim for future international competitions.
Selection for the National Team
The NationalTeam is made up of the top performers in the grooming community. Selection for the National Team is based on their ranking, their expertise in specific breed conformation grooming, and their alignment with DA's core values. Additionally, they must have no conflicts of interest with DA Canine Grooming ponsors or any affiliates of DA member bodies.
The four representatives will be chosen to represent the National Team by The National Committee
This selection process ensures that the team comprises the most consistent and talented groomers, reflecting their dedication, skill, and hard work throughout the competition season.
All travel costs associated with the National Team are shared among team members. Each member is responsible for raising their own funds, either through individual efforts or through group fundraising activities when available. This shared responsibility helps build a strong team spirit and ensures that each member is fully invested in the team's success
Team Commitment
The National Team commitment spans approximately 12 months, or until the next team is formed. During this time, the team is focused on training, fundraising, and preparing to compete in international events (including international events held in Australia) upon several important factors:
• Grooming Event: There must be an official International Grooming event scheduled for that particular year.
• Sufficient Funding: Both Team Funding and Individual Funding must be sufficient to cover all related expenses, such as travel, accommodation, and competition fees. Each team member is responsible for contributing through personal fundraising efforts, and the overall team must have enough financial resources to proceed.
• NGC Approval: The National Grooming Committee must formally approve the team's participation in the event. This approval will be based on team readiness, funding availability, and other considerations.
Without meeting these conditions, participation in International Grooming events cannot proceed.
