My CV
I began my love of dogs and showing in 1995 with my very first show dog, a Jack Russell Terrier. I was so lucky to be entrusted with an awesome first time show dog from Baylock Kennels in Victoria, winning BIS All Breeds and Specialty BIS awards. Fast forward and over the years I have also co-owned/showed Welsh Corgi Pembrokes and Golden Retrievers to BIS awards.
Now along with my wife Maree we have had Old English Sheepdogs, Puli and Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen.
Our dogs have been awarded All Breeds BIS’s & Specialty BISs (including Nationals) across Australia. We have taken our dogs to the ‘Top Dog ‘competition, representing Tasmania as the overall Number One Dog in the State on a number of occasions. Our most recent success was our OES ‘Jasmine’ Sup Ch Bagatelle Moonlight Garden (imp Can) being awarded BIS at the 2024 Sydney Royal Easter Show.
I started my judges training back in 2013 and obtained my All Breeds licence in 2023. I have judged in all states of Australia including OES Specialty shows in New South Wales and Western Australia. Now I am on the Tasmanian judges training panel giving back to help other candidates on their judging path. I am also on the Royal Hobart Agricultural Society Dog Show Committee and President of both the Working Dog Club of Tasmania and the Hobart Dog Club.
I ran my own Dog Grooming business for over 5 years where I groomed a variety of breeds such a golden retrievers, poodles, maltese, shit tzu, spaniels etc. I was able to complete hand stripping, plucking, clipping, and scissoring of the various breed whilst paying attention to the safety and proper handling of the dog. It was also important to finish the grooming in a timely manner. I believe in the importance of balance, symmetry, and shape suitable to the breed style. Given my heavy involvement in coated breeds I am able to maintain show quality coats and our results speak for themselves.
