Michael has been a prominent figure in the dog world since 1968, excelling as a breeder, exhibitor, and exporter of Australian Silky Terriers, Poodles, Pharaoh Hounds, and Lhasa Apsos. With a career that began in his youth, Michael has produced around 100 Champions and achieved notable successes at Royal Shows, including Best Exhibit in Show at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 1988 and 2016. He has also contributed to the grooming field and has been a judge with All Breeds status since 1989. His judging experience spans numerous countries, and he is known for his commitment to achieving the highest grooming standards.
My CV
I have been involved in the Dog World since 1968 as a successful breeder, exhibitor and exporter of Australian Silky Terriers and as an exhibitor of all three varieties of Poodles, Pharaoh hound and Lhasa Apso's. From the age of ten I prepared and handled my family's dogs along with other exhibitors’ dogs mainly terriers.
Highlights of my involvements with Silky Terriers includes making up approximately 100 Champions and winning many groups royal shows throughout Australia.
For approximately 10 years I co-owned and prepared all three variates of poodles with great success including winning Best Puppy InGroup Melbourne royal with a Brown Miniature Poodle and Best Exhibit in Show at Sydney Royal Easter Show 1988 with a white Standard Poodle.
During my time with Poodles, I helped facilitate all breed grooming classes.
Since 1997 I have been involved with Lhasa Apso’s with great success winning multiple Best in Group and Group placements at Royal shows within Australia including Best Exhibit in Show at Sydney Royal Easter Show 2016, Multiple Best in Shows (All Breeds) and Multiple Speciality Best in Shows.
The last couple of years I have been helping hand strip some terriers.
I was first approved to judge the Toy Breeds in 1978 and achieved ALL BREEDS status in 1989.
I have officiated at shows in all States of Australia, Sweden, Norway, Finland both Islands of New Zealand, Estonia, India, Canada, Thailand, Philippine’s, China and Japan.
When grooming I strive for perfection, putting the best shape possible to suit the particular dog that suits the breed standard and give the coat a perfect finish.
