I have been a member of The Canine Assoc. of WA(now trading as Dogs West) since 1986, and have been a fully licenced ANKC All Breeds Judge since 2015.

I have judged internationally in Finland, China, The Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and New Zealand, and judged in all states and Territories of Australia.

I have been professionally grooming for +25 years, firstly at Nedlands Veterinary Centre(where I also completed my Veterinary Nursing qualifications), then becoming the proprietor of Midland K9 Klippers. During this time, I have groomed many pure breeds of dogs in breed specific trims. Poodles (All varieties), West Highland White Terriers(hand stripped & clipped), Cairn Terriers(hand stripped& clipped), Schnauzers(All sizes- Mainly clipped)Border Terriers(hand stripped), Bichon Frise(hand scissored), Portuguese Water Dogs(Retriever & Lion Clip), Pomeranians(hand scissored), Lowchen, & many crossbreds in owner specified trims.   I have during this time taken on many work experience students, most who have gone on to grooming careers of their own. 

I have competed in several grooming competitions, however, due to my competing in the conformation showring and judging conformation shows, as well as working full time I have had limited time to compete. I have also adjudicated at a grooming competition here in WA.

I have, in my time of conformationshowing, produced over 100+ Champions bred under my prefix, KARLYERMAI.  I have competed with and titled Australian Silky Terriers, Norfolk Terriers, Portuguese Water Dogs, Italian Greyhounds, Yorkshire Terriers & Poodle(Toys).  All of these breeds I have taken to Multiple Best in Group & Best in Show competitions.  Dogs under our Prefix have won Best of Breed awards at all State capital Royal Shows in Australia. 

I am currently on the Governing Council for Dogs West and am the Overarching Coordinator for Judges Training in Western Australia, I am the immediate Past President of the Poodle Society of WA & the W.A. Toy Dog Specialist Club.
